The purpose of Sunday morning classes is to provide a place for Christians to grow deeper in their walk with God. In a nutshell, this is accomplished by studying the Word of God. At 9:30 on Sunday mornings, we devote our time to a detailed study of scripture and biblical topics, and how to apply the knowledge gained to our daily lives. The Bible is God’s autobiography. There is no better way to get to know the Sovereign God of the universe and His plan of redemption for mankind than to be immersed in His Word, Genesis 1:1 through Revelation 22: 21. Joining together as His body and utilizing all the resources available help to make our coorporate study well worth the time. Sharing these studies together is not only enlightening and interesting, but fun! We highly encourage everyone to take advantage of this valuable opportunity.
Our standard procedure is to have (4) thirteen week lesson series per year.
We begin the first quarter of 2012 by wrapping up the Ray Vander Laan DVD series “Walking with God in the Desert” on January 1 and 8. What an amazing study this has been! It has deeply spoken directly to many of us in the congregation.
On January 15 and continuing through March 25 we will do a study called “Standing on the Promises.” In this day and age of social unrest, moral decay, economic uncertainty, political irresolution, world madness and general hopelessness, what better way to start off the new year than with a focus on God’s promises to us as revealed in His Word. Even in the midst of our own personal difficulties, we must ever be mindful of the amazing goodness He has made available to us, His dear children. There are so many promises in scripture, we will be hard-pressed to examine each one. But we will look at many of them – promises for this life and promises of eternity. We will include the aspects of rewards and crowns in this study, as well. This could change your whole perspective of life!
Also, Pastor Cal will be continuing his study of the books of Peter on Wednesday nights at 6:30 PM at the church. If you want to dig deep into scripture, this is a good place to be!
