About TCUTR

Our focus at The Church Upon The Rock

Our main focus is to glorify the Lord through prayer, praise and worship, as well as the Word of God. The Word of God is our standard to live by. The Word of God takes precedence over any feelings or opinions. Prayer is the foundation of everything we do.

We try to reach out to the unsaved and unchurched, we support other churches through prayer and ministry as they reach out also. We believe God uses other churches as well as TCUTR.

At The Church Upon The Rock, we are learning to keep church simple just as it was in the first century church. The leadership of the church consists of Pastors, Elders, and Deacons.  The church also consists of ministries and heads of ministries. In those ministries, we strive to place and equip people according to their gifting.

We believe, according to The Word, the most important thing to God is the heart. The scriptures refer to the heart more than any other topic in the Bible. Therefore, we want to be a church, “Where your heart matters because your heart matters to God.”

Our Purpose and Vision statement is divided into three main ideas: Heart for Worship (Our love for God), Heart for Discipleship (Our love for God’s people), and Heart for Ministry (Our love for God’s work). This is our response to God for what Jesus has done for us.

At The Church Upon The Rock, we focus on becoming healthy believers rather than having numerous members. We believe the church is an organism.  If an organism is healthy it naturally reproduces.  Therefore, if we are healthy spiritually we will reproduce other believers.  In order to become healthy spiritually, we offer discipleship settings for groups as well as individuals. Our classes are designed to be topical studies and book studies. We offer classes, retreats, conferences and individual discipleship for spiritual growth, finances, family issues, marriages, emotional situations, etc.

At The Church Upon The Rock, we start ministries solely to disciple and meet the needs of the people who attend.  Before moving ahead in anything, we believe we should take it before the Lord in prayer first and foremost.
